You can get involved as part of our active and friendly team of volunteers. Most volunteers host the Museum to visitors by welcoming them to the Museum, answering queries and helping them to get the best from their tour of the galleries. During your half-day, once per week during our open season from April to October, you will meet people from the far corners of the world, as well as Richmondshire folk seeking more knowledge of their heritage. This often leads to other ways to help, especially if you have particular skills or an interest in history, or in Richmond and its surrounding Dales.
We have volunteers who undertake all aspects of the back office of the museum, changing light bulbs, cataloguing records, conserving artefacts, assisting with education visits, even looking after our website etc.
Whatever your personal interest or ambition, there is a good chance there is a role for you with us!
As a volunteer at Richmondshire Museum, you would be entitled to a pass which gives you free or reduced entry to a number of other attractions in the area.
